How To Make Dalgona Coffee at Home

Dalgona coffee is frothy iced coffee, whipped drink that became viral in early 2020, especially on social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram and so on. It originated from “South Korea” and the name Dalgona come from Korean honeycomb toffee candy, which is known for its light and airy texture.
One of the reasons for Dalgona Coffee’s popularity was the COVID-19 (lockdown period) when people trying new things at their home.
It is very easy to make at home. We required basis ingredients: instant coffee, sugar, milk, hot water, and we can also be customized according to us.

🌱Ingredients: –
• 2 tablespoons instant coffee (not ground coffee)
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 2 tablespoons hot water
• 1 cup milk (cold or hot, depending on your preference)
• Ice cubes (optional)

đź“„Instructions: –
Combine the ingredients
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the instant coffee, sugar, and hot water in equal parts (2-3 tablespoons each).

Whip it good!
Using a hand whisk, electric mixer, or milk frother, whip the mixture until it becomes thick and frothy. This can take about:
• 3–4 minutes with an electric mixer
• 8–10 minutes with a hand whisk (a good arm workout!)
• 2–3 minutes with a milk frother

Prepare your milk base
Fill a glass with milk—cold for an iced version or warm, hot drink. Add ice if required.

Top with the whipped coffee
Gently spoon the whipped coffee mixture over the milk. You can use a spoon or spatula to create a smooth, pillowy layer on top.

Serve and enjoy
Stir before drinking, or enjoy it layered for a stronger taste up top.

✔️Tips for perfect Dalgona Coffee
• Use instant coffee only – Ground coffee won’t whip up the same way.
• Granulated white sugar works best – You can try brown sugar, but the foam may not be as stiff.
• Whipping tools matter – A hand mixer makes the job much easier, especially if you’re making more than one serving.
• Adjust sweetness – If you prefer a less sweet drink, reduce the sugar slightly, but note that sugar helps stabilize the foam.

🥛Variation to Try: –
• Mocha Dalgona: Add 1 tsp cocoa powder to the coffee mix before whipping.
• Vanilla Dalgona: Add a few drops of vanilla extract to the milk for extra flavor.
• Dalgona Affogato: Spoon the whipped coffee over a scoop of vanilla ice cream instead of milk.
• Vegan Dalgona: Use plant-based milk like almond, oat, or soy. Make sure your sugar is vegan-friendly too.
• Matcha Dalgona (No Coffee): Whip heavy cream and sugar, then stir in matcha powder. It won’t foam the same way as coffee, but it’s a beautiful alternative.

Dalgona Coffee is more than just a drink—it’s an experience by me and also by many peoples. With its texture, rich coffee flavor, and presentation, it’s no surprise this treat went viral. Plus, it’s quick, easy, and easy to make at home.
Whether you’re sipping it on a warm afternoon over ice or enjoying a hot version in the morning, Dalgona Coffee is sure to delight both coffee lovers and casual drinkers.
