How To Make Green Tea
How to Make Green Tea (Using Loose Leaves or a Tea Bag)
🌱Ingredients:
• Green tea leaves (1 tsp per cup) or 1 green tea bag
• Hot water (not boiling — around 160°F to 180°F or 70°C to 80°C)
• Cup or teapot
• (Optional) Honey, lemon, or mint for flavour
📝Steps:
- Heat the Water:
• Bring water to a boil, then let it cool for about 2–3 minutes.
• Ideal temperature: 160–180°F (70–80°C) — boiling water can make green tea taste bitter. - Add Tea:
• If using loose leaves: Put 1 tsp per cup into a strainer or infuser.
• If using a tea bag: Place it directly in the cup or mug. - Pour Water Over Tea:
• Gently pour the hot (not boiling) water over the tea leaves or bag. - Steep:
• Let the tea steep for 1–3 minutes, depending on how strong you like it.
• Taste after 1 minute, then every 30 seconds until it suits your preference. - Remove Leaves or Bag:
• Take out the tea bag or strain the leaves. - Optional Additions:
• Add a touch of honey, a slice of lemon, or fresh mint for extra flavour.
✔️Tips:
• Don’t overstep — it makes the tea bitter.
• Use filtered water for better taste.
• Try cold brewing for a refreshing iced green tea.
