Pav Bhaji Recipe
🌱Ingredients
For the Bhaji (Vegetable Curry):
• 2 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
• 1 cup cauliflower (finely chopped)
• 1/2 cup green peas
• 1 medium capsicum (finely chopped)
• 2 medium tomatoes (finely chopped)
• 1 large onion (finely chopped)
• 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
• 2 tbsp butter (plus more for serving)
• 2 tbsp oil
• 2–3 tbsp pav bhaji masala
• 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
• 1 tsp red chili powder (as per your taste)
• Salt as required
• Water as required
• Fresh coriander leaves (finely chopped, for garnish)
• 1 lemon (cut into wedges)
For the Pav (Bread Rolls):
• 8 pav buns
• Butter for toasting
• A pinch of pav bhaji masala (optional, for extra flavors)
📝Instructions
- Prepare the Vegetables:
• Boil potatoes, peas, and cauliflower until soft. Mash them and keep aside. - Cook the Bhaji:
• Heat oil and butter in a pan.
• Add chopped onions and saute till golden.
• Add ginger-garlic paste cook it for 1 minute.
• Add tomatoes, turmeric, chili powder, and pav bhaji masala. Cook the tomatoes until they’re soft.
• Add mashed vegetables and capsicum. Mix it well.
• Add water as required and slow cook for 10–15 minutes, mashing everything as it cooks.
• Add more butter if desired. Adjust salt and spice. - Toast the Pav:
• Cut the slice of pav in horizontally manner.
• Heat butter on a pan, sprinkle a bit of pav bhaji masala (optional), and toast buns until it becomes golden and crispy.
🍽️To Serve:
- Serve hot bhaji with butter top on it, with buttered pav on the side.
- Add chopped onions, fresh coriander, and lemon wedges for garnish.
